Bookings
We ask for 24 hours' notice on all bookings as our chefs bake everything fresh each morning.
If you would like to make a booking, please call us on 01834 843033 to check availability.
Please note that we require valid card details to secure afternoon tea bookings, if you have a voucher please quote your voucher code upon booking.
Whilst we are able to cater for vegetarian and gluten-free, we do not cater for dairy-free or vegan diets.
Please note that we will not be serving Festive Afternoon Tea on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Eve.
Important information
Service Charge
Please note that we add a 12.5% service charge to all food and drink bills.
This is discretionary, if you would like it taken off just let us know and we will be happy to remove it from your bill.
If you feel like our services did not meet your expectations please do let us know what we could improve on, we value all feedback.
Private/Group Bookings
Large afternoon tea bookings will only be accommodated in our private dining space 'The Courtyard' which does incur a hire cost. Please do contact us directly to make a group booking.
Late arrivals
We understand life can get in the way of good time-keeping sometimes but if you have a booking and you are running late, just give us a call and let us know when to expect you. We always ask for the best contact number and will give try to call guests who are more than 15 minutes late on busy days. If we haven’t heard from you within 30 minutes of your booking, the table will be released.

Parking
Penally Abbey car park is reserved for our guests who are staying with us. With this in mind, we do not provide parking for customers having afternoon tea. We recommend you park on either the village green just beneath the hotel or at Penally village train station, just a few minutes walk away.
Cancellation Policy
For all afternoon tea bookings we require card details to secure your booking. These details are securely kept with a third-party payment platform, Stripe and will only be charged if the cancellation terms are not met. If you want to cancel or to reduce numbers of your reservation please give us 24 hours notice before your booking time.
Fail to give this notice and cancel on the day of your booking or you are a no-show you will automatically incur a charge of the full amount of our afternoon tea per person. Alternatively, if you have a reservation made using a voucher, the voucher will be invalidated and cannot be redeemed as everything is freshly made on the day.(Price subject to change)
As a small business, last-minute cancellations can affect us quite significantly and when plenty of notice is given allows us to rebook tables, plan our staffing, cook lovely food with minimal waste and remain priceworthy for all of our guests.
